About Tiny Toadstool Tuition
My Story
Hi, my name is Lexi and I am totally passionate about child-led education and creating fun, engaging learning environments for children. I have worked with children for nearly thirty years. My roles have included being a babysitter, a playscheme leader, a volunteer swimming coach, a childminder, a Wildlife Watch leader, a summer school teacher at Edinburgh Zoo, a Rainbows leader, a primary school teacher, a nursery teacher, a private tutor and owner of a children's craft centre and library. I completed my BSc(hons) Zoology in 2004 and then my PGDE Primary Education in 2007, both from the University of Glasgow. I worked in schools in Dundee, West Lothian, East Dunbartonshire, Glasgow and Cyprus. My children have always been home educated, they are now nine and twelve. I love being an educator and I am constantly studying, I really believe in lifelong learning.

Tiny Toadstool Tuition's mission is to nurture creativity and encourage critical thinking when learning. To ignite the spark and follow where that takes the learner.
My Approach
I believe that learning should be engaging, interactive, and fun. My role is to be a facilitator to learning, to find the resources and plan lessons that the group is interested in studying. In this photo I am teaching the Wildlife Watch group about composting worms.
